My name is Dr. Julia Platt, Owner and Chiropractor of Elevate Spinal Care

Why did you open Elevate Spinal Care?

I fell in love with chiropractic when I was 18 years old. After suffering two concussions playing competitive soccer, my life was drastically changed after seeking out chiropractic care. My headaches/migraines, brain fog and digestive issues disappeared. I went to visit my chiropractic school in Spartanburg, SC and felt right at home. Fast forward after graduation, I was an associate doctor in Summerville, SC for a very busy practice where I learned and mastered my craft. I knew I wanted to open my own office and then Elevate came to fruition. I wanted to have a space that was relaxing and emphasized healing. I love taking care of kids and families in the office and get their quality of life back! I love the miraculous power of the body's innate wisdom to heal itself!

What services do you offer to the community?

Upper cervical chiropractic care for all ages. We aren't the "normal" crack and pull and twist. We are very specific and gentle in our adjustments. I do a thorough consultation and history, spinal examination with thermography, and digital x-rays in house to find the source of the issue. I then come up with a game plan that is individualized for each patient to get their issue corrected.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

Besides seeing people be able to do the things they couldn't do before (due to pain or other symptoms), I love just getting to hear people's stories of what they've been through and their life story. I love when i get to see a patient completely change - decrease anxiety, and leave with a smile on their face.

What’s your favorite service?

My favorite service is getting to adjust and take care of families. I love when parents get the message of a clear nervous system and trust me enough to take care of their kiddos.

What makes your business unique?

My office is the only upper cervical specialty on James Island (focusing on the top two bones of the neck). We have x-ray in house and monitor progress each visit. I think the big thing that makes us stand out is that we see our patients as our family. Every person is known by name and treated like family..because that's what they are!

What is one piece of advice you want everyone to know?

I want everyone to know that chiropractic is safe and effective and that you don't have to be stuck in a box of a diagnosis and medicated for the rest of your life!
