Meet Annalise Lind!

What's your professional background?

I worked for six years in college ministry, sitting with students over a cup of coffee or tea, as they processed the life changes of college. While doing this, I attended graduate school for counseling and worked with a non-profit agency that provided counseling scholarships for adults and children.

After that, I moved to Charleston, finished my counseling degree, and began working with children in a community mental health style setting. Then, I came to Ethredge Counseling to work with adults and will be celebrating my one year anniversary here in January!

What do you love about your work?

I love being able to sit with clients and witness their growth and healing. It is the beauty and joy of my work when a client is able to honor their body and give compassion to themselves in the midst of their story.

What drew you to becoming a therapist?

I originally wanted to be a medical doctor, but when I started working with college students, I realized I wanted to have tools to walk with people in their bodies, minds, and souls.

What’s your speciality?

My speciality is working with women of all ages, but in particular, women in their 20s and 30s processing life changes, as well as career and relationship challenges, who are wanting to prioritize their mental health.

What’s your treatment style?

My treatment style is "person-centered," meaning the client/therapist relationship is the center of the work that I do.

Most likely to discuss during a treatment?

Clients often discuss emotions that they've been experiencing, what these emotions feel like in their bodies, and what the part of them that's experiencing this emotion needs this week.

Hobbies outside of work?

I love riding bikes, going to the beach or the mountains, cooking, and going to concerts.

What is your favorite self-care practice/coping skills?

I love reading books (often on mental health) and journaling. Recently, I've been enjoying making a cup of coffee, lighting a candle, and focusing on my own mental health in the mornings!
